Use your Excel or Lotus skills to help find capacity bottlenecks
and prepare effective production schedules.
There are always capacity bottlenecks. Even if you have 'spare capacity'
you find that management will cut working hours so there will still be
bottlenecks in the short term. This course is for people who have to
solve immediate problems "here and now".
You can handle bottlenecks by intelligent sequencing of the work at hand.
In this course we will talk about how to get workload into the spreadsheet. How to handle
forecasts, orders, batches, operations and resources.
Using simple spreadsheet techniques this can be converted into a working schedule.
You will be able to use simple macros and scripts to find the bottlenecks, sequence them
and plan the feed and take-up work correctly.
At the end of the course you will get a copy of the course notes and
a working model spreadsheet with the macros and scripts used in the course.
